Simple Projects with Easy Stitches

As a beginner, everything feels out of reach. Even though I’ve knit my own boot cuffs and still working on that blanket (yarn can get pricey when you have to buy a lot of it), I still feel as though the world of knitting is out of my reach. I need to learn a lot of things, like how to knit in the round (which seems like something I’d like to learn how to do but god damn does it seem scary).

So I’ve decided to compile a few projects that anyone with two needles and the ability to knit and purl can make. I’ll be giving a few of them a chance myself, which hopefully will be the next thing I post.

  1. Leg Warmers – Not too far from boot cuffs! I like this pattern specifically because it doesn’t require me to knit in the round OR use double pointed needles. And I want to knit my itty bitty niece a pair for her birthday (baby leg warmers are a thing, I swear)!
  2. Mini Aliens – I can not stress how adorable these little guys are. I want to make three dozen and shove them into stockings for the holidays. They are too cute.
  3. Baby Hat with Bow – Yes, it’s for babies but it’s tiny! I mean, you can easily add circumference to it. The provide of the pattern describes how to in the post.
  4. HOLIDAY CARD HOLDERS – This is the coolest little thing ever. I am ecstatic to have found it. Yes, there are some extra steps besides knitting and purling but honestly, you could just follow the dimensions and make card holders that way.
  5. Slippers – THE COUP DE GRÂCE! Ladies and gentlemen these slippers are indeed flat knit and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Now we have 5 projects that we can all try together! I know when I get home today I’ll be trying out those little aliens and starting a pair of those baby leg warmers. As for the rest, they’ll get done I’m just not sure when. As with most hobbies there’s always a monetary aspect to it all. I know I’ll be searching high and low for cheap, good yarn so I can keep on doing lots of projects!

Thanks for sticking with me, my faithful handful of readers. I always look forward to comments and likes and you guys are full of them. I know that these next couple of months are going to be full of knitting and practicing. I’ll get my rear in gear and learn how to use double sided needles and how to knit in the round. I’m determined to become a better knitter and having this blog helps me motivate myself by a lot. It’s like positive peer pressure. Here’s to the next post and the next project!
